Goal of this tutorial

This tutorial will serve as an introduction to CASA (Common Astronomy Software Applications package). The introduction will be given by European CASA support specialists and use the latest version of the CASA release.

Format

The tutorial will include introductory talks on most aspects of basic data reduction and will allow ample time for participants practicing their data reduction skills, either on test data or on their own data. The tutorial programme is now online.

Please download and install CASA through the NRAO CASA webpage.

Place/date

The workshop will be held from Monday October 5th 13:00 till Wednesday October 7th 17:00. The locations is the C.I.P. room (0.11) at the ground floor of the Argelander-Institut für Astronomie of Universität Bonn.
Directions to the institute can be found here. By flight, the nearest airport is the Cologne/Bonn airport, which is (among others) served by the discount airlines Air Berlin, German Wings and TUIfly. There are also direct connections to the Düsseldorf and Frankfurt airports.

Registration has closed!

While we will have CASA available on local machines, it would be preferable if everyone could bring their own laptop. Information on CASA installation will be sent shortly before the tutorial.
The list of participants can be found here here. This includes unfortunately a number of people on the waiting list. They will be informed should others withdraw.
