Practical Radio Interferometry WS 2012/2013 (6935)

The course "Practical Radio Interferometry" offers a hands-on overview of major aspects of radio/mm/submm
interferometry for master students, PhD students and senior astronomers. The lectures start with
a general introduction to radio interferometry and data reduction, followed by presentations of special
aspects of radio astronomical observations given by experts of their respective fields. The course
also comprises hands-on tutorials, where participants learn how to reduce interferometric data with
AIPS and CASA.
Note that it is NOT mandatory to attend all the lectures and/or both parts of the tutorial. If you
consider attending the course or some part of it, please send an email to
muehle@astro.uni-bonn.de. We will then inform you of all updates concerning the course. We will also offer remote access to the lectures and tutorials on an experimental basis (maximum 10 participants). If you would like to follow the lecture from your office or a remote location, please indicate that when you register for the mailing list. Note: the lectures start October 17th! |
