This page provides some programs developed by members of the institute. The programs can be used for scientific purposes. The licence conditions are listed in the individual README-files of the software packages.

McLuster

by Andreas Küpper

Description

McLuster is a tool to make a star cluster. The code generates a table of cluster stars which can also be used as input for Nbody codes.
Online Dokumentation: http://www.astro.uni-bonn.de/~akuepper/mcluster/mcluster.html

A recent version can also be found at http://www.astro.uni-bonn.de/~akuepper/mcluster/mcluster.html

optimal_sampling

by Jan Pflamm-Altenburg

Description

The routine optimal_sampling allows to draw stellar masses from an IMF such that the IMF is optimally sampled without stochastic fluctuations.../../~akuepper/mcluster/mcluster.html

bhint

by Ulf Löckmann

Description

bhint is a post-Newtonian, high-precision integrator for stellar systems surrounding a super-massive black hole.

statpl

by Thomas Maschberger

Description

statpl is a program which estimates the parameter of power-law distributed data and calculates goodness-of-fit tests for them.

Further Information

"Estimators for the exponent and upper limit, and goodness-of-fit tests for (truncated) power-law distributions"

Plumix

by Ladislav Subr

Description

Plumix is a small package for generating mass segregated star clusters. Its output can be directly used as input initial conditions for NBODY4 or NBODY6 code

Further Information

mkj_libs

by Manuel Metz

Description

mkj_libs provides a set of helper routines (vector operations, astrometry, statistical analysis of spherical data) for the main plane-fitting and analysis tools.
Online Dokumentation: http://www.astro.uni-bonn.de/~mmetz/py/docs/mkj_libs/index.html

Libimf

by Jan Pflamm-Altenburg

Description

Libimf provides a collection of programming functions based on the general IMF-algorithm by Pflamm-Altenburg & Kroupa (2006).

Catena

by Jan Pflamm-Altenburg

Description

Catena integrates the orbits of an ensemble of stars using the chain-regularization method (Mikkola & Aarseth) with an embedded Runge-Kutta integration method of 9(8)th order (Prince & Dormand).
