will take place from September 30 to October 2, 2013 at Landhotel Rügheim (Lower Franconia)

This fourth
meeting of the Research Unit is held ‘to ring in’ the second funding period.
Meanwhile, LOFAR has become routinely operational and has delivered first
spectacular results on the relativistic plasmas in galaxies and clusters of
galaxies. This meeting is to convey the scientific achievements made in the
framework of the Research Unit over more than three years of active research,
with data collected by LOFAR being in the focus, while supplementary data from
other instruments disclosing magnetic fields in diffuse media (WSRT, EVLA, GMRT, …) are also presented. The results of these studies
can be interpreted using numerical simulations, which have become more and more
realistic over the recent past.
