The recent star formation history in NGC 1569

M. Tosi, M. Clampin, G. De Marchi,

L. Greggio, C. Leitherer, and A. Nota

[Fig. 1]
Fig. 1. CMD of the stars detected in the PC field of NGC 1569:
a) objects with photometric error <0.2 mag,
b) objects with error <0.1 mag.
Panel c) shows the Geneva evolutionary tracks with Z = 0.001 in the HST photometric system and with the reddening and distance of NGC 1569.
Some of the stellar masses are indicated

[Fig. 2]
Fig. 2. Synthetic CMDs with the Fagotto et al. (1994) tracks:
a) one SF episode still active now;
b) two episodes separated by 5 Myr and no SF in the last 10 Myr;
c) same as b) but with episodes separated by 10 Myr.
The adopted IMF slope is indicated
