My Masters project deals with the population synthesis of planetary nebulae from binary stars especially systems which experienced common envelope evolution. I also investigate the chemical composition of planetary nebulae and their progenitors. I am using the binary-star population nucleosynthesis code (binary_c/nucsyn) by Prof. Robert Izzard. |

My Bachelor project dealt with fast rotating massive main sequence stars and was supervised by Prof. Norbert Langer. I analysed the surface abundances in different stellar models with various masses, metallicities and rotation rates to work out a method to clearly recognise rotationally induced chemical homogeneity in massive main sequence stars. The results show that with the surface abundance of oxygen and fluorine a recognition of chemically homogeneous evolution is possible independent of the stellar mass and metallicity. You can find a copy of my Bachelor thesis here. |
