About Me

I finished my Diploma Thesis entitled "The Evaluation of the Effelsberg-Bonn HI Survey on the Local Universe" in 2010 and am now working on my Ph. D. thesis where I will continue to work the Effelsberg-Bonn HI Survey (EBHIS). My main responsibilities are the development of the radio frequency interference (RFI) mitigation pipeline, the improvement of the data reduction process and the analysis of the extragalactic emission.

Besides my research, I conduct and organize practice sessions for the introductory courses to astronomy. I am also involved in the Holigrail-Project, a student driven campaign to observe multiply lensed quasars and obtain light curves to determine Hubbles constant. I also take part in the Astroclub, a weekly meetup where first-year students and undergraduates get introduced to professional astronomy and current topics in astrophysical research.
