This is just a small math exercise we once happened to think about during our coffee break. It should not prove to be too difficult for you. The real reason for me to put this on a webpage is just that I ever wanted to play around with MathML.

Here we go...

It is easy. ;-) Just solve the following equation:

(Ok, to make it more interesting, are you sure that the obvious solution is the only one?)

Formula written in plain old HTML	x + x = xx
The same formula written in MathML	$$x+x=x^{\mathrm{x}}$$

(You may find that your browser is as yet not ready to interprete MathML code properly. Luckily, the situation is about to change. The recent versions of the Firefox-based browsers are capable of interpreting MathML, and also Opera from version 9.50 on.)
