1) According to the order for service with Lehigh Moving, who arranged our overseas move on June 29, 2004, our goods were supposed to be transported in wooden crates. They were not: Lehigh Moving merely loaded our goods onto palettes with simple plastic foil wrapped around them! As a direct consequence of Lehigh Moving not fulfilling the contract almost all of our furniture has been damaged or destroyed during the move.
2) According to the bill sent by Lehigh Moving, the total volume of the shipment was 950 cuft (26.9 m3). The actual volume, however, was 565 cuft (16.0 m3); i.e., they overcharged us by claiming the volume was much higher than it actually was.
Written evidence has been provided to Lehigh Moving for the above statements. Lehigh Moving has not responded at all to this day.
Good luck with your move!

Update: The Better
Business Bureau (BBB) revoked Lehigh Moving's membership. Here's the quote.
On May 22, 2007, this company's membership in the BBB was revoked by the BBB's
Board of Directors due to the company's failure to eliminate the underlying
causes of complaints on file with the BBB concerning: failure to honor promised
pickup and delivery dates, lack of availability for resolving customer prolems,
unprofessional conduct, bait & switch billing or overcharging, holding goods
hostage, damage to and loss of belongings, and unsatisfactory service.
