The above picture shows me in front of the APEX telescope. APEX is located in the Chilean Atacama desert in an altidude of 5100 meters. It is a collaboration between the Max-Planck-Institut für Radioastronomie (MPIfR) in Bonn, the European Southern Observatory (ESO),  and the  Onsala Space Observatory (OSO) in Onsala, Sweden. APEX is a modified ALMA prototype antenna and operated as a single dish telescope.

In the last years, I was involved in the development of the APEX control software APECS that was developed at the MPIfR.

I am also involved in the development of the Bolometer Array Analysis Software BoA at the Argelander-Institut für Astronomie.

Between October 2008 and January 2009, I held a course Python for Astronomers together with Manuel Metz.
