Abstract

I present some results of my ongoing analysis of early LOFAR data on long and short baselines using VLBI methods. Fringe-fitting for LOFAR requires special methods because of the low frequencies and the large relative bandwidth. Goal of these experiments is the calibration of long-baseline observations, but currently they are mainly used to understand the behaviour of the instrument and the ionosphere. Important results include finding first fringes to and between three German stations and the detection of a number of technical problems.
