International LOFAR
Poster for the AIfA hallway
O. Wucknitz [1]
- Argelander-Institut für Astronomie, Auf dem Hügel 71, 53121 Bonn, Germany
Abstract
LOFAR is a new European radio interferometry array that observes at the lowest
frequencies, a range that has been neglected for decades. With LOFAR we can
for the first time produce high-quality images of the low-frequency sky and
study structures from the largest to the smallest scales.
The group Radio Lenses of Olaf Wucknitz is leading the development and
commissioning of the international baselines, which provide the highest
resolutions. This poster shows a selection of early results.
This poster is displayed in the AIfA hallway, put up in March 2012.
