"Astronomers for Planet Earth" (Talk)
PD Dr Jürgen Kerp from the Argelander Institute for Astronomy explains how we are all passengers on a spaceship. Spaceship Earth has been orbiting a star in the Milky Way, our sun, for around 4.5 billion years. Human activity is currently causing the large thermostat on spaceship Earth to be turned upside down; it is getting warmer and warmer. The conditions for our lives are changing locally, but also globally. And it is clear to anyone with just a little background knowledge: there is no other planet within reach that would allow Earth-like life."
